Hi all,

I wish to do something a little different with the "freeze panes" option, and I'm not sure if it's possible. I know that normally, say to always show row 5, you must select row 4 and choose "freeze panes" from the "Window" menu.

What I want to do is to have rows 56-60 show all of the time. Is there any way to freeze just these rows, such that rows 1-55 and 61+ scroll and 56-60 remain constantly in view?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
A way I can think of to do this, if all you want to do is see the cell values (not be changing them right there, is to copy the section and pase it in at the top of your sheet. ie, shift things down 5 rows and copy the portion you want to see. After you copy it in, freeze the pane to allways show the cells.

From Excel Help:

On the worksheet, select the cells you want to make into a picture.

Click Copy .

Click the worksheet or other document where you want to paste the picture.

To paste the picture to another worksheet, hold down SHIFT and click Paste Picture Link on the Edit menu. The picture is linked by a formula that refers to the copied cells.
To paste the picture to a document created in another Office program, click Paste Special on the Edit menu. In the As box, click Picture, click Paste link, and then click OK.

You can use the Picture toolbar to change the image.

Hi Matt

Yes, you can, using another window for the same workbook:

- Create a new window for your workbook (Windows>New window)

- Arrange the 2 windows Horizontally (Windows>Arrange>Horizontal)

- On the top window hide rows 1:55 and 61:Last row

- On the bottom windows hide rows 56:60

- Adjust the height of the windows

This way the rows 56-60 show all the time in the top window and you can scroll all the other rows in the bottom window.

Remark: the location of the menus with the window commands that I used is the one in xl2000. In later versions of xl you may have to look for the menu commands under another header.

Hope this helps
