Okay.. so I created a FUNCTION and it seems to work.. sort of...

Function COMMENT(XCell) As String
On Error Resume Next
COMMENT = XCell.COMMENT.Text
End Function

The problem is that when I put this function into the cell where I want the comment to appear "=COMMENT(A1)", nothing is visible in the cell.. THIS is my new problem.. Please reply if you know why this happens.. Many thanks.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Try the below if you mean the old comments (now called notes), if you mean the new comments then post back.
VBA Code:
Function MyComment(XCell As Range)
MyComment = XCell.COMMENT.Text
End Function

I changed the name of the function because it isn't in general a good idea to use a name that Excel uses although it shouldn't make a difference in this case.

Please see the edit above about old/new comments
