Function for getting number in 9 digit format

Hello All,

I want to display 1246 as 000001246 (in a 9 digit format).

I am looking for a function to accomplish this.

Something similar to =TEXT(A1,"#########")

Which won't work. If there was something like =NUMBER(A1,"#########") i would be really happy. . which i tried too

I know this can be accomplished by changing the format type of the cell but I am looking for the function which will convert any number to this 9 digit format.

Anybody got any idea?

You can't do this and maintain the value as a number (the leading zeroes are not significant). You'd have to custom format the number or convert it to a string.
