= Function in 2007

Excel 2000 had a = function on the formula bar that added the = sign to the beginning of the data in the current cell when selected. I understand that this feature has not been available later releases. We are moving to 2007. Is there a macro that can be written to do the same thing? Best regards, Terry.

Something like:

Sub AddEquals()
   Dim rngcell As Range
   On Error Resume Next
   For Each rngcell In Selection
      If Not rngcell.HasFormula Then rngcell.Formula = "=" & rngcell.Formula
   Next rngcell
