futher totalling information

Thanks for that.

Can you do it for multiple criteria..?

I want now to total all of the information up with "build1" and once it has done that to count the number of desks that that have "vacant" in the field.

e.g there are 60 fields with "build1" but only 20 of them have "vacant" in another column..

Can anyone help?
 

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Use the countif function:

eg Countif(B1:B60,"vacant"), where rows 1:60 is where you have your data.

Geez... Why do you start another thread? Now I'm forced to look up the original thread to see the first question and my answer to it...

It would be much easier if you could indicate which columns you are using.
