I'm about to throw my desktop out the window.

Haven't used Excel in years and now my boss has asked that I produce a Gantt chart.. Given my computer doesn't have MS Project, I've resorted to using Excel.

So, I've got the data laid out in the following format. Description in the first column with start and end dates in Columns 2 and 3. The last column is duration

When I produce a stacked bar chart, I run into two issues:

i) X-Axis: Gives me dates for the year 1900. Nothing in the 2000s. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remedy this.

ii) Bar: Instead of giving me bars that 'float' in the middle of the chart signifying starts and ends, I get bars starting from January 00-00. Does solving problem i, solve my second issue? If not, how do I solve this?

Thanks for any advice!

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
