I am trying to work out how to do the following:

I have column F which lists the total number of surveys currently undertaken in 2011 and I am trying to work out how many of these have been carried out over a four week period - I have another table which holds the start (column Z) and end (column AB) dates for the 4 week periods.

The survey date itself is shown in column D on a seperate sheet called "survey data" within the workbook.

Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
This will count the number of dates listed in 'survey data' column D that are between the two dates in Z2 and AA2

If you have Excel 2003 or earlier:
=COUNTIF('survey data'!D:D,">="&Z2)-COUNTIF('survey data'!D:D,">"&AA2)

Excel 2007 or later:
=COUNTIFS('survey data'!D:D,">="&Z2, 'survey data'!D:D,"<="&AA2)
