Hey all TIA for the help.

Newb here, but I am a fast learner.

I have to generate hundreds of login names for users, the typical first initallastname configuration.
How can I do this with excel.. I have a worksheet with two columns, first name and last name.

How do I pluck the desired letters from the cells? First letter from cell one, then all of cell two, no spaces between them.

Thanks!

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
With the first name in Column A, last name in Column B, try this for your result cell (I used Column C):

=LEFT(A1)&B1

and copy down the column.

Hope that helps!
