I am wanting to pull data from multiple closed files, in multiple folders.
When we measure parts on our CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), the data is output to an Excel file in it's own folder. What I want to do is pull data from these files, within a specified date range and put all measurements into one file. Once I have this data, I can do the analysis I need to do. Is it possible to do this? The file names for the source files follow a specific naming convention, and in each file, the data I need to extract start at the same cell address, so there are consistencies. I have no control of how the data is saved, so a different structure is not an option.

This will be the beginning of a pretty large project.

Thanks in Advance
Willy

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
is it supposed to pull ALL workbooks in a set of folders?
or
just certain files in certain folders and not every time?

Just certain files, and not all the time. Some of the files in the folders are not Excel files, and some of the Excel files contain data I do not want. It's a bit of a challenge. I am trying to automate a data reporting process.
