Geting the Link path as text

I've searched for this but can't quite seem to find the answer. I need a cell to reference part of the link in another cell.

So if A1 is linked to \\server\something\book1 - 2007-07-31.xls

I need B1 to extract the 2007-07-31 as text so that I can use it in a variable for the ChangeLink method.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
try this ( i am not quite sure it is going to work or not..)

write into B1 cell; =right(A1,14)

Thanks. That won't work. If the value in A1 is 612 via that link, it will still return 612. I need to return the actual path that is linked, not anything having to do with the value it is returning.

Is there anyway to grab this via VBA if you can't put the actual text into a cell?
