After putting in a formula like =sum(Y2-3) in the Z col, the result will not come up when after I enter a value in the Y col and hit enter, but it takes a SAVE to get the sum. How can I get it to total when hitting ENTER after putting the value in the Y col, instead of having to save? Thanx Ironsides

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
sounds as if you need to take a look at your calculation options.

menu: tools - options
tab: Calculation
option: Automatic.
