When I delete all the data items from a Pivot table in Excel 2000 I get the following error message:
"Excel exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the Program.
An error log has been created."
I am using Windows 2000 with Excel 2000, when I use the same file and remove the data using Excel 2003 I get no error message and a pivot table that shows no data, exactly what I expected.

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
