Hello everyone,
In a local area network, how can we get data from one excel file to another excel file in local area network. I am not asking for cutting, copying and pasting. For instance, I would like to get data from another excel file which is located at another computer to my current opened excel file.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Probably something along the lines of opening the file as \\machine_name\dir\file.extension or ip\dir\file.extension

Have you tried the source wizard?

Hello dereidar,
I don't know what source you are talking about. But I tried to give the path as you told as \\Computer1\E\filename.ext\cell address. Here Computer1 is a computer which is in network, E is the shared drive. But it did not worked.
I am using excel 2003 version. And it do not gives "Get external Data" option in Data menu. You can help me by giving me new method.
