# Getting #N/A with OR function

Hi,

I'm using the OR function in conjunction with VLOOKUP. My three VLOOKUP functions reference cells in columns E, F, and G and try to find a match among a list of names in column S:

=OR(VLOOKUP(E2,\$S:\$T,2,0)="EAST",VLOOKUP(F2,\$S:\$T,2,0)="EAST",VLOOKUP(G2,\$S:\$T,2,0)="EAST")

I run into problems when the name in E correctly equals "EAST", but the name in F or G is not in the list in column S. In other words, I'm expecting a "TRUE" result, but instead I get #N/A.

Is there a way around this?

### Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest

##### MrExcel MVP
=INDEX(T:T,LOOKUP(9.99999999999999E+307,MATCH(E2:G2,S:S,0)))="EAST"

Thanks

Regards
