Getting rid of "Sum of" in PivotTables (2007)?

How do I get my PivotTables to NOT say "Sum of" in the data headers? I was able to figure this out in Office 2003, but now cannot find the option!

Also, on a related note--is there a way to make "Sum of" the default when adding data (rather than Count Of)?

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
For me it seems to be the same method that I use in Excel 2003. I right mouse-click a value for the data header that I want to change and from the context-menu I select "Value field settings". I then remove "Sum of " from the Custom Heading - if you don't change anything else then you need to add a space at the end of the remaining name to avoid upsetting Excel!

As for the second question, I would expect "Sum of" to be the default and expect "Count of" to appear if a cell with non-numeric content exists in the dataset.

If there is even one blank cell in the source data you will get "count" instead of "sum" as the default.
