Getting the Data Validation Dropdown to start from the current Date not the begining of the list?

Hi Everyone,

bit confused, need advice.

I have a range of dates in date order A1 to A365

I use the data validation and listed then as the list I want to use, but when I go to select a date instead of it showing the current selected date and letting me scroll up and down it starts at the first date.

not had this before I'm sure?

anyone know what I need to do???
