Getting totals

I have a spreadsheet that keeps track of my shipments. It includes columns for SalesID, QtyOrdered, QtyShipped, QtyRemaining, DueDate, ShipDate, and DaysLate. Some of these shipments are part of a large order that are promised and shipped at various dates during the year. I would like to be able to keep track, in a separate sheet within the worksheet, the original total quantity of the SalesID, less all the shipments for that SalesID to show me how many are still remaining to ship for the total order. For example, SalesID #0012345 had a total order quantity of 100,000 pieces. We promised to ship 10,000 on the first of each month until the order is complete. I want the shipping clerk to be able to enter the shipments in order as they are shipped in the original spreadsheet. Since I have many SalesID numbers, each SalesID could have many shipments spread throughout the spreadsheet. I've tried to use DSUM but it seems that I am limited in the criteria area. I couldn't figure out how to do it with a lookup. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
