Sometime the ansewer in so simple I look past it. But how do you show the automated grand total in a line chart.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
yes this is where I want to start but with the stacked chart to add a total line chart type with a moving average trend line for comparision

I love the data pig website and visit it often. Im using a stacked column chart with several sources. In pivot chart it has the grand total column but Im having a hard time getting it to show on a chart.

It took you five posts to get around to saying it was a pivot chart. None of the items suggested work on pivot charts, because you can't add data from outside the pivot table, and pivot charts don't show subtotals or grand totals. You could create a regular chart using pivot table data: select a blank cell away from the pivot table, start the chart wizard, and on step 2, click on the Series tab, and add each series separately (if you try to use the Data Range tab with pivot table data, Excel turns the chart into a pivot chart).
