# Grandson's homework, Signed Numbers, Algebraic Expressions

Here is a clip of my attempt to check the accuracy of his answers.
I used straight formulas, but I don't know if Excel intuitively applies the rules for signed numbers (positive and negative). I've searched for previous posts but found nothing.

The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
yes it does....you can place first value in column A, second value in column B and then use formula: =columnA - ColumnB
