Hi all. i am graphing 2 years of payment volumes and number of applications for grants in a simple dual axis bar chart. Sum of payments are plotted on the primary vertical axis, months are across the horizontal axis, count of applications are on the secondary vertical axis.

as we have only data until April this year, the amounts for May and June are blank. why does the count line for 2020 (purple) not drop to zero?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
seems that the issue only arises because i used a pivot chart. If you run a normal chart of a copy of the data, there is no tail to the line. i can make a copy of the pivot in some blank space and run the chart off that if i have to.

so, now i get this:

Rather than the drop to zero for the last two months of the year, i would actually like to see the 2020 line end at April which is where the last count is. Can this be done?
