Hi
I have a pivot table which has the date as a column and grouped based on Quarter. I copied that table in the same sheet so I can group the date differently by Month for example. But If I group/grouping anyone is going to effect the other one. I watched the video below (sorry for posting it), at 5:55
he tried to cut the table into different sheet then copy back to the original (so both would have different cache) but It did not work. Any idea how can this be fixed? Thank you

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Use the pivot table wizard (Alt+DP) to create the second pivot table. That should ask if you want to share the same cache - just say no.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to get that trick working. I could have insert a new pivot table (insert-->pivot table) and put it there.
any idea how to fix that trick, not sure why the author said it did work for him! thank you

I can't access YouTube at work.

I suggest you try editing the copy to use one row fewer in the source data, which should break the link, then you can amend the source data again to include all the data.
