[h]:mm:ss conversion to number format

I have a time duration column that I have set to [h]:mm:ss which is F2-E2, the start and end time. What would be the best way to get that duration into hours decimal form or into seconds. Essentially I need a column of a numbers format instead of date or time, linked excel sheets in access don't seem to recognize [h]:mm:ss. '=hour(G2)' doesn't work because the durations are more than 24 hours long.

You need to format the result cell as Number.
