I have a workbook, that used OWC (web components) and some active X, embedded in sheets and forms

None of that is going to work in Excel 2019.

Has anyone done a major conversion like this , and what is the most efficient way to go about it.

As it is, Excel barks loudly with all kinds of errors when you load the book, as some references are missing (the OWC dll) and some others as well.

Also I noticed it was having some trouble finding NAMED RANGES within the VBA code accessed like , [NAME_OF_RANGE] , even though they are global to the workbook. Excel 2007 had no problem.

I was thinking I should remove all the obsolete code within Excel 2007 first, to avoid all the errors , then build up the functionality from there in Excel 2019
