Hi,

Has anyone had excel count the number of places based on a decimal value. For examle, if a cell displays 1.3, can excel determin that there are 13 places if you count by tenths? Does that make sense?

You would just divide by the step size, e.g.

=1.3/.1

I think I am just overcomplicating something that is simple. I can divide by the .1 but I was just more wonder if there was a formula that would take its place. Thanks both for the responses
