Hi, Happy New Year

Is there a way to have numbers automatically fill in when I type one or two numbers like when text is entered.

I'm still learning about macros so be kind :)

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi FDibbins

I'm making a spreadsheet to record dates and amounts
Most of the amounts will be the same. I was wondering if I start to enter an amount, excel would recognize it and finish the typing.
All amounts will be in column C
Most amounts will be 756.56
Once in a while i might enter a different amount but it wouldn't start will 75
If I start to type 75, the rest of the number comes up and I would hit enter

I'm compering it to when I type a word and if the word or part of the word is anywhere above in the column, excel finishes it for me

I mentioned that I'm not to good with macros. If that's what I have to do, I'll need to see it.

Perhaps have a cell somewhere where you enter that number, then give it a short named range (say aa), then where you want that value to be, just type in =aa

Or use could be made of AutoCorrect whereby, for example, a75 is entered and is corrected to 756.56
