Having date problems

I'm trying to fill in a monthly schedule.

The lay-out is standard, and has 5 weeks (monday to sunday).

I am trying to fill in the date for each day in the table,
with these known starting conditions: year and month.

from there, i can tell what day the month starts, ( =weekday(date;2)

however there I am stuck.

What I want excel to do is fill in each day correctly

If for example the first day of the month is on wednesday, I want in the cell next to the first "wednesday" to be filled in wih "1".
Problem is, I cannot use "cell_above+1" next to thursday because that might as well be the first day of the month, or the last day of the previous month.

I hope I explained clearly enough to understand, too bad I cannot attach the file as that would make it much more clearly.

Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
I can't understand those formulas, however my problem is similar.
I also cannot use that layout as I'm using it for a specific planning table.

Thanks for taking the time of responding, though...

Nope,

problem is briefly:
I've got 7 cells, of which one (and only one) can have the value "1". the ones higher should number further upwards, the ones below should have either 28/30/31 (depending on the month) and counting down.

The calendar template doesn't quite solve this...

If your layout isn't the same as the one in the link I gave you please post it. If you select 'Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing' in 'Message Editor Interface' under User CP|Edit Options (menu towards top of screen on Board) you can copy it in Excel and paste it into a reply. Please give cell references.
