having trouble with the INDEX formula

I am trying to use the index formula to do a two way lookup. The data pulls back ok but when i have no information in my referenced cell it still returns a value. please see below sample

Package Weight Zone Local List Rate Cost

DC
Atlanta
Baltimore
Dallas
Fresno
FT Wayne 18 2 6.37
Lakeland (?) (?) 5.24 :biggrin:

Hi and welcome to the board!!
It's not clear how your data is layed out and what you want to lookup. Can you use Colo's HTML tool or Erik.Van.Geit's Table-It to post some sample data?

My guess is you will need a combination of INDEX-MATCH.

Thanks for the welcome, yes a coworker showed me, the match was the key it set the coloum and row. I like the forum, it sure will come in handy when i get stuck,LOL. :rolleyes:
