Hi
I have a work book with 7 worksheets and 1 summary sheet
each work has 3 columns name, late (Y,N), more 15mins(Y,N).

I am trying to count the many times an employees name appears in the
name column over all 7 sheets and ad them to gather in the summary
column against the employees name. eg: if employee 1 is late on day1, day3 and day4 the formula should tcount 3 next to the agents name in the summary sheet tp indicate that the employee was late 3 times in over a week.

next out of those 3 late time I would like to create another formula that will tell me how many times that employee was more that 15mins late.

At the moment I am have only been able to count between sheets using
the counta function but this counts all fields, but I am trying to only count using an employees name as the criteria. So for example in the summary sheet. I enter joe blogs in the A3 (name) I would like the formula in B3 (number of lates) to count the number of times that thats employees name appears on each sheet. Then in C3 (number lates more that 15mins) I would like that formula to count out of the lates how many time the employee was late more than 15mins.

Is this possible?
any help would be great

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
im not exactly sure what you mean, but i would think you would be able to do it using either the sumif or the countif functions. im leaning more towards the countif. but im not sure since i cannot see the sheets

Hi - welcome to the board.

"I have a work book with 7 worksheets and 1 summary sheet "

You probably shouldn't. If, for example, this is 7 sheets, one for each day of the week, then you should have one sheet, with an extra column to record the date. You can then use excel's functions as they were intended, rather than having to jump through hoops to get there.

Too late to change the sheet set-up?
