Hi All,

In a previous post, my question was answered in that I need a dynamic data validation list, so now I'm asking how I go about creating one of those.

http://www.box.net/shared/rm8ylobbf2

Basically, on the second sheet, there are are load of grade boundaries for different exams. I want to have the front sheet with a choice of exams to put in, from row A on the second sheet. I also want to make sure that the blank cells caused by how the second sheet is laid out do not appear in the validation list.

Once the user has chosen which exam their class is sitting, I want the cells next to the children's names to fill up with the relevant lookup code to translate their raw score into a grade.

If anyone could help that would be great!

Thanks,

Dom

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I cannot navigate that link, due to security settings where I work ... I suspect many others will be in the same boat.

Can you post examples of the front sheet and the second sheet? You say that you don't want blanks appearing in the validation list ... then why do you have blank cells in the source range in the second sheet?

As for getting the cells next to the children's names to fill up ... where is the lookup table for translating scores to grades? A simple(ish) formula would be able to do that. Or is it that there is a different table for each exam?
