Hi, I have a situation that is similiar to one listed in the Learn Excel from Mr Excel book, but slightly different.

I have groups of data, each taking up 3 rows. This is how they exported from another program. I need to move the data in row 2 and 3 into the last columns on row 1. Same with rows 5 and 6 need added to the last columns in row 4, etc...

Reading the instructions, I set up new columns A (Group) and B (Seq). I want to put a 1 in coumn A of every row where C has text. Then, I will want to put a 2 in column A of every row where K includes specific text (NPI) and I want a 3 in column A ov every row where K includes specific text (UPIN). The rows where I am looking at column K has data only in column K (C-J is blank).

My problem is, how do I get the 1 in column A when C has text?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Actually, I stated this wrong.

I want to end up with the first three rows all having a 1 in column A, a 2 in column A for the next three rows, a 3 in column A of the next 3 rows, etc... This will group 3 of the rows together with a unigue number for each group of three.

So, I need to look for text in column C, put a 1 in column A. Then, keep putting a 1 in column A of the subsequent rows, until I encounter text in C again. That row would put a 2 in column A of all rows, until I next encouter text in C, etc...
