I am an intermediate Excel user and a beginner with Visual Basic and besides the QBasic class I took in college several years ago, I have no programming experience. I was hoping someone could recommend some beginners programming training (what is a string, variable, etc). Any suggestions? Online and free would be nice! Thanks for your help.

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
jump in with both feet
use the macro recorder
Mr Excel has a book on macros
write them with the recorder, then post here with questions
Google search on books, classes

Just a few suggestions

Hiya, A.Lynn!

As A. already mentioned, the macro recorder is your best friend. The object explorer in the VBE is your 2nd best friend. And this board is right behind the VBE's OE.

And as for books, Bill & Tracy (aka MrExcel & starl) have put together some nice ones. Also, here's another list over at ****'s blog.
