Greetings all,

I have a bit of a problem, I am trying to create a worksheet that has some text locked, and some cell's that need to be user entered. The other problem is this sheet will be stored on a network drive that is secured to read only. I was hoping to have a pop up window that they can edit the data in the various cells, but will not save changes. Is this possible? If needed I can send the excel file. Thanks for your help.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
A combination of locking certain cells and protecting your worksheet should do the trick.

-Highlight the cells to be locked and from Format...Cells, go to the last tab and click the 'Locked' button
-From Tools...Protection...Protect Worksheet, protect the sheet (with or without a password).

Voila. All other cells are editable except the one you locked and the read-only status of the thing itself overrides all.
