Hello! Need some help please...

I want to have a cell A1 with a variable integer, and use it to calculate the product (1000-1)*(1000-2)*...*(1000-A1)

So if A1=4, then my target cell will have 999*998*...*996
or if A1=8, then my target cell will have 999*998*...*992

Is this possible without using VBA?

Many thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi - try:

=PRODUCT(INDEX(1000-ROW(INDIRECT("1:"&A1)),0))
