Help Please with Max Function

Hi all, Need a bit of help with the max function, I have a list of random results for example 5,46,13,566,12,43,59,43,43,76,49,34,64 all in separate rows, I can find the highest one with the Max function but I cant work out how to find the next highest number any ideas? I do not want to use sort data as i need the sheet to remain in its current order.
