Is there any way to create a drop-down list that can add more items to the list when we type?

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
The question is too broadbased for a specific answer. In general, you can modify the dropdown list using vba event code or a button to execute code that would copy what you type to a drop down list. But there are conditions that have ot be included in the code to specify where the valid typing will occur and what parameters apply. Otherwise, you might end up copying everything you type to the dropdown list and completely corrupt your project.

As a side note, the forum guidlines for thread titles discourage the type of title you have used. A more appropriate title would have been "Appending drop down lists".

Maybe not suitable for what you want, just putting it out there for ideas and inspiration.

I had a previous task where I was validating in vba (no dropdown) against a list in a hidden sheet.
A worksheet change event rejected the unknown entry on the first attempt but stored it in a static variable, along with a static counter.
If the unknown entry was entered a 3 times in succession then it was added to the list for future use and the variables cleared, if a different value was entered then the variables would be cleared with no action.
