excel 2007
i have a column for the month so it reads say
January
february
march

when i bring it into pivot table it shows 1s instead of the actual month, how do i get the month to show

Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
As long as the header "Month" is in the data area for the table this shouldn't be an issue. Place that header into ROWS and you should gt a row for each month.
