Help with a simple problem

Hey guys

i want to do the following.

Say i need to sum A5:A7. hence i could do = sum(A5:A7)

but instead say B1 and C1 contain the numbers 5 and 7

can you do =sum(A(value(B1)):(A(value(C1)) to produce the same result

this would be good help.
