I am making a spreadsheet where I need to put a fraction in one cell and want the adjacent cell to automatically show the percentage. How do I do that? Thank you!

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
nlcrews,

Welcome to the MrExcel board.

put a fraction in one cell and want the adjacent cell to automatically show the percentage

Can we have a few examples of the "fraction", and what the "percentage" should be for it?

Have a great day,

If I had a fraction of 13/17 the cell below would show 76% automatically. Also, how do I stop EXCEL from reducing fractions to the smaller numbers? Thanks so much!

nlcrews,

I hope this helps.

Excel Workbook
AB
113/17Excel will interpret cell A1 as General format.
20.764705882If you start with the = sign to indicate a formula you will get 0.764705882 formatted as General.
376.47%Cell A3 contains the same formula as cell A2, but is formatted as Percentage with two decimal places.

This is exactly what I need help on. However I don't want to type in the spreadsheet formula in A2. I want A2 to pull the fraction from A1 and compute it as a percentage. So when I update this spreadsheet annually, I only have to change the data in A1 and the percentage in A2 will automatically change. Any ideas?
