Hi,

I have not worked with arrays before and seem to have an error in an array formula that I can't figure out.

What I am trying to do is to read the values of a cells over a range which are on sheet1 to sheet2. I entered =sheet1!$H$8:$H$192 into cell A2 on sheet2, then keyed in ctl+shift+enter. The array formula is now in A2.

I then did a fill down. The result was the same value in each cell, H8 in all the cells in the A column instead of the full range in the array.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Art

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Hi Art

You need to select all the cells on Sheet2 first and then type in the formula and confirm with Ctrl+Shift+Enter. ie so highlight A2:A186 first.

Hope this helps!

Enter the formula in A2.

Select A2:A186

Place cursor in formula bar.

Press Ctrl + shift + enter.
