Help with arrow keys and Excel

When I enter data into and Excel cell and hit the down arrow key to enter data in the next cell, the spreadhseet moves up one row - when I use enter the data enters correct and I can enter on the next cell. I am in Vista and Excel 2007.

I assume there is a setting that is not working correctly

It seems you pressed the Scroll key on the keyboard. Press again.

That is exactly what I did...and I knew it (or thought I did),,,but had one hell of a time finding the scroll key to push on the new laptop...
