HELP with auto-populate based off of cell lookup please!

So in Column A, I need a formula that will auto-populate off of what is in Column B (which will be tied to another sheet). I tried VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, but I'm just not that great with Excel. Can someone help please?

So I want the Supervisor initials to auto-populate based on the Dept ID (Cost Center) and I have this sheet set up for the search:

Does that make sense and is it possible?

Preferably, the look-up (cost center and team lead) would be in a completely different worksheet, but if they have to be in the same one that is ok too.

It looks as though the values Dept Id column are text, but those in the Cost Center column are numbers, is this correct?

Maybe that's my issue...they should be the same...numbers.

This is the formula suggested by my IT Department, but I can't get it to work:
=VLOOKUP(B4,VLOOKUPCC!A2:B51,2,FALSE)

There's nothing wrong with that formula.
If they are a mix of text & numbers try
=VLOOKUP(B4+0,VLOOKUPCC!A2:B51,2,FALSE)

Question - it worked for 80%. Not sure why some are coming up with the #N/A when that cost center IS on the look-up form.
