Please help, what I am trying to do is very simple, yet I cannot find a solution anywhere in these forums or elsewhere via google searching. All I want to do is compare to columns, row by row, and highlight the cell with the higher value in each row, for a very long list of entries. In the example, below, I want it to highlight B1, A2, A3, and B4.
A B
5 10
4 2
9 4
15 21
I saw several solutions that say I have to use two conditional formatting rules, one for each column, which makes sense. If the range is A1:A1000 for example, I would highlight that range and set the CF formula to =A1>B1, and then do the same but reverse the formula for B1:B1000. However, this is only checking if A1>B1, and then highlighting the entire range if that statement is true. I want it to check each row. Is this not possible?
