I am trying to create a formula to add days from a certain date. If I want to use May 1st, 2008 as my starting date, I want to calculate the number of days from that date to "today's" date. I am trying to figure the amount of Late Fees that are due (each day the spreadsheet is viewed) and I want the excel spreadsheet to manually calculate what is due and add additional dates. Below is an example:

May 1st 2008 Rent- 304 days late *$25 a day = $7,600
June 1st 2008 Rent- 273 days late *$25 a day = $6,825
July 1st 2008 Rent- 243 days late *$25 a day = $6,075

So when I open the spreadsheet tomorrow, I want that May column days late to show 305, June column days late to show 274, and July column days late to show 244. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ashley

Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
I'm coming up with a difference of 2 days from your results.

Put =TODAY() in a cell and then subtract the starting date from it. Put your late rate in another cell and multiply these results by it.

Excel Workbook
ABCDEFGHI
15/1/20083067650Today:3/3/2009
26/1/20082756875Late Rate:25
37/1/20082456125

Assuming the dates of 1 May 2008 is in a row say B1, and so on

=TODAY()-B$1

That is 306 though not 304.

I was using March 1st instead of todays date, so this will work out great. Thank you for your help. Ashley
