Hi

I have a log which lists the order number against each product / row. So for example if an order has only 1 product then it only has 1 entry. If an order has 3 products then it has 3 rows entered and the detail for each product entered on that row. The common factor is that they all have the order number in column A no mater how many lines the order has.

What I would like to do is lookup against Column A the total weight of the product rather than returning the individual weights.

Is there a way that I can do a lookup to get the total weight when the number of rows varies on each order. The weight is in column R.

Example below

Column A (Order Number)Column R (Weight)
3156221414.30
3156225227.59

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Depending on what you need to achieve you could perhaps use a Pivot Table ? Make your PT's Data Source an Excel Table
