What I'm trying to accomplish is this:

I have a customer field in C2. I'm trying to generate a specific hyperlink to different web pages in S38, based on the customer inputted into C2.

I tried using data to make a =Hyperlink(vlookup function, and it works. As I switch the customer name, the correct hyperlinks appear in S38, but when clicked they say "cannot open specified file".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
CAn you post a sample of your data??
AND
the entire formula ??

The formula I'm using is =VLOOKUP(C2, K190:L191, 2, 0)

The data its pulling from is simply

Customer Hyperlink
ex:
K190-L191 (small sample to test with)

Amazon http://www.google.com
Bealls http://www.gmail.com

I did however change the display text of the hyperlinks.

When I switch my customer field in "C2" the correct hyper link shows up in S38 and is clickable. I however always get the error message. I even tried a regular =HYPERLINK(L190) and it does the same thing.

=HYPERLINK(VLOOKUP(C2, K190:L191, 2, 0))
2

Hmm, no matter what I do, I'm still getting back the same error. I wish I could just share my sheet, I'm sure it's something simple I'm over looking (as i'm not the greatest with excel).

If Google drive doesnt work, let me know and I'll upload it to dropbox tomorrow. By the way, thank you so much for the reply and help. Much appreciated. I've made this from scratch while I learn excel and I've been stumped on this aspect for awhile.

Had a bit of a play with it and removed the hyperlink entirely.
Closed and saved
Recreated a hyperlink from a known source and it worked OK....
Can't explain why, but this might bump you back up the thread list and someone else may know the issue causing it !
