Good morning!

I'm looking for some formula help please. What I would like is a formula to "tally" if there is something in certain cells. So in a row, if there is text (specifically a date) in cell A1, A3, A4, A6 then in A9 it would show 4. In the next row it could be a date in B1, B2, B5, B6, B7, B8 so in B9 it would show 6. Does that make sense and is that do-able? Thank you!!

### Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.

I think you should just be able to use the COUNT function, i.e.
Excel Formula:
``=COUNT(A1:A9)``

If that does not work for you, please provide a sample of what your actual data looks like, along with your expected results.

Quick question - is there a way to do this if there is words/text in the cell instead of numbers? For instance I have 20 rows, if there is A1:A20, if there is a name in 15 of them I want the cell to equal 15. Does that make sense?

Nevermind!! I'll do the opposite and use COUNTBLANK!
