So I have a database that has customer info on one row and order status on the next row. I need to sort based on the order status but when I do it separates from the customer data. How can I sort and get excel to treat the two lines as a single line?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.

Welcome to the Board!

Excel sorting works row-by-row. So you probably need to consolidate all your data on one row. Macros can be created to do that automatically.
