Here is the formula I am trying to enter;

=SUMIF((O6:O173,"><",0),(O6:O173,"05/15/11",M6:M173))

I am only good with easy formulas! I am trying to sum totals in column M and place that sum in one cell if column O (where I put the date) is blank, or the sum of column M in another cell if column O has a date of 05/15/11.

Can anyone help me out?? I would appreciate any help I can get...trying to get this spreadsheet working in a hurry!

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.

Are you looking for two separate formulas:

=SUMIF(O6:O173,"=",M6:M173)

=SUMIF(O6:O173,"05/15/11",M6:M173)

or something else?

VoG; Thanks for your response...I copied and pasted your formula into a copy of my worksheet, but it gives me an error...any clues?

Aladin; I am trying to do two different formulas, but in the same cell. My spreadsheet is a list of invoices billed in one column, total due our suppliers in the next column, the balance due coming to us in the next column, and expected pay date (I use the 1st, 5th, 10th, etc.) in the next column, and at the bottom of the spreadsheet, I want to see totals for the balance coming to us next to each date. Once it is paid, I put the same date as expected due date in column O so that at the bottom, next to the due date of 5/15/11, I show 2 totals, those that were already paid on 5/15/11 and in the next cell, the totals that have not been paid and column O is still blank. Does that make any sense? Thanks for your response...I appreciate any help I can get!

Sorry, there was an extraneous comma in my formula. It should have been

=SUMPRODUCT(--(O6:O173<>0),--(O6:O173="05/15/11"+0),M6:M173)
