# Help writing formula to show red numbers if negative.

I have been trying to formulate this to show Red numbers if the total is negative, is this possible?

(CODE)IFERROR(1/(1/IF(A7>=0,SUM(Inventory!M:M),0)),"")(/CODE)

Two possibilities maybe....
Select the cell(s) > Format Cells > Number > Select Number or Currency > Select a RED format bor negative values.

Use Conditional Formatting > Custom Formula > eg for A3 '=A3<0' > set Font format to red.

Hope that helps.

Snakehips: I have tried it both ways.
unless I did it wrong, I can't get it to change colors.
This formula is in a tab "Yearly Sum Totals"
(CODE)IFERROR(1/(1/IF(A7>=0,SUM(Inventory!M:M),0)),"")(/CODE)
Pulling from tab named "Inventory" this where the negative & positive numbers are at.

With Inventory M:M summing to a positive number...
Book1
ABCDEF
7999
Yearly Sum Totals
Cell Formulas
Range(s)Formula
F7F7=IFERROR(1/(1/IF(A7>=0,SUM(Inventory!M:M),0)),"")

With Inventory M:M summing to a negative number...
Book1
ABCDEF
7999
Yearly Sum Totals

Red font by virtue of cell format for negative number by using the Number Tab of the Ribbon or Right Click Format Cells.

I am seeing this as purely a formatting thing. Please enlighten me if I've not properly understood.
