I'm trying to assist a staff person in seeing information only on the lines she's working on.

Is there an application in excel that will hi-light the entire row on which you are working....aside from selecting the row# at the far left.......in other words, if your on cell D4...i'd like the entire D row to be hi-lighted.

thanks
Schpanky

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.

Without having to read through & adapt the code, I believe this is what you're after. This goes into the sheet module. (Right click the sheet tab > Choose View code > Copy & paste this in the white area on the right > Press AltQ when you're done.)
Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Cells.Interior.ColorIndex = 0
With Target.EntireRow.Interior
.ColorIndex = 6
End With
End Sub
Hope it helps,
Dan
